EP Mic Shootout Overview In order to select the best mic for use in lecture content production by our remote faculty, we took a group of mics that are all within the same price range and recorded some audio tests. We are seeking your input in order to make this determination. Rank the mics in the order from best (#1) to worst (#7). Provide any additional thoughts or reasoning in the open text field next to the ranking. Methodology We selected 7 mics that met the same criteria: 1. Plug and Play (i.e., USB), 2. Portable, 3. Easy to use, 4. Under $50. We recorded using the same set of phonetically balanced phrases (i.e., Harvard sentences) for each mic. We used the same voice actor (Brad Aumiller) on each mic. We performed loudness matching across the all clips. And, finally, we anonymized the clips.
