JHU provides access to Microsoft Office through mySoftware (available through the myJHU Portal). Microsoft Office allows adding equations that are easy to edit and compatible with most screenreaders. By using a mathematical authoring tool like the one built into Word and PowerPoint (as opposed to a flat image of an equation), you’re making more future-friendly, accessible documents.
You can use this built-in equation editor to insert common equations, create new equations, edit equations, and even convert handwritten math from a digital tablet into equations. It also allows you to use LaTeX if you prefer.
